Advancement is one of the top priorities in Troop 1.
We focus on advancement at many of our meetings, and our campouts as well. In this section you will find all of the requirements for each of the ranks, as well as useful links to other web sites that will help you as you advance. If you work hard enough, you can become one of the more than 2 million Eagle Scouts, just five percent of all Boy Scouts, who have achieved the highest rank in scouting.
Eagle Scout transcends just scouting:
- 39 U.S. Astronauts (Including Neil Armstrong) are Eagle Scouts.
- 13.6% of United States Military Adademy (West Point) Cadets are Eagle Scouts.
- 22 Members of the 111th Congress are Eagle Scouts.
Awards other than rank advancement are also very important in Troop 1.
Merit badges and the other awards that Scouts can earn are an opportunity for you to expand your reach beyond just the skills required in advancement. The over 100 merit badges offer you an opportunity to try something that you've never done before, and other awards can give you recognition in areas such as character, community service, and other personal qualities. The possibilities are seemingly endless!
